A Prayer For Lost Soldiers

Today I make a prayer for the young soldiers found in Youssifiyah, which is in Iraq. Identification of the soldiers has been difficult since they were tortured and mutilated. The names of the lost soldiers are Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston, and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, 25, of Madras, Ore. My prayers are with their families, friends, and loved ones. These young men died much to soon and in a horrible way.

Let the perpetrators of these crimes be warned - the wrath of the lord will come down upon all that take part in evil such as this. This goes for soldiers on both sides of the conflict. Let our prayers go out to all victims in this bloody conflict.

May the world's leaders fall on bloody knees and stop the never-ending violence. The lord cries at the loss of life and the suffering of innocent men, women, and children. Jesus Christ sees the pain and agony brought upon the innocent by earthly powers. Jesus Christ and his father who art in heaven, watch over us and tally this carnage. Judgement Day will be upon us all and deeds of such will not be forgotten in the house of the lord.

I pray today that all hearts filled with hatred, will be saved by the light of the lord. I pray that all religions learn to except their differences. I pray that all humans wake up to what is going on in our world, and vote out leaders that insist on leaping towards violent means. I pray for the families of all soldiers lost in the past, present, and future.

I pray that the lord god sends us leaders that truly know how to lead, and not be dictated to by their war bound associates. May Jesus Christ send us the young men and women who can drive out violent and reactive leaders.

A Prayer For Addicts

Today's prayer goes to all of the addicts in the world. May all people suffering from an addiction be cast out from their pain. May their opportunity to continue their quest for drugs or alcohol stop. May they suffer hard and fast, but not be killed or harmed, so that they can see the light of the lord.

I pray today that all people in our world can overcome their horrible and life threatening addictions. I pray that the people that love then will give them that last chance they need to finally clean up their lives forever. I pray that the collateral victims of alcoholics and drug addiction, are held safe in the hands of Jesus Christ. Let the addict's bottle break, their syringes dry up, their pipes be crushed, their will to destroy themselves and those around them cease.

I pray this day forward that the awareness surrounding all addictions is heightened to the level that all children of earth learn to love Jesus and his father, and learn to despise drugs and alcohol.

A Prayer For Our Children

Today's prayer is for our children. Let us bow our heads in prayer for every child on this earth. May our children be safe and secure in their environment, without the worries of the adult world. May they be protected from violence and have love showered upon them from at least on kind soul.

I pray that their elders and parents come together in peace so that no child is lost in the cross-fire. May Jesus Christ protect our innocent children from the darkness found in many corners of the globe, and hold them in his loving embrace. May the governments and powers in all lands give due priority to the children who need food, clothing, shelter, love, attention, guidance, and education.

May the children in our lives be blessed with the knowledge of Jesus Christ and his father who art thou in heaven. As lost and wretched souls commence in their pursuit on darkness, may the hand of the lord pluck our children from their grasp. God praise our children and let them live and grow under blue skies. Let our children laugh, play, and rejoice in their youth.

A Prayer For Our Pets

As you know, normally we post prayers for the peace and well being of mankind. Today I want to say a prayer for the pets in our lives. I pray for the safety and security of all pets on this earth. May they receive the shelter, food, and attention they need to live a full life. I pray that the owners of all pets can find the love in their hearts to look after their pet's needs.

I want to praise all those people on our earth that look after animals of all kinds, for the animals on this earth are creations of god almighty, and we as humans need to cherish our coevality with them. Blessed are the people who care for all creatures large and small, blessed are the people that are filled with the love of Jesus Christ, and pass that love along to our precious animals.

Today when you see your pet, hesitate a moment to look closely at the beauty of their appearance. Thank god for such a blessing in your life, and if possible, touch this pet in a loving way. Maybe give your pet a treat, a bath, or a walk. Don't take for granted your pet's life with you. Be loyal to your pets, and take care of their needs, as they are at mercy of your actions. Let Jesus Christ, God almighty, and the holy spirit fill your heart today and hold you in loving hands. May you transfer that love towards others, and today think of your pet's existence in your physical life, for they possess a soul as well - a soul that is sacred in the kingdom of heaven.

A Prayer For Freedom

Today I pray for freedom. Freedom from bondage of any sort. Freedom from the tyranny of mankind. Freedom from sickness, disease, poverty, alienation, addictions, fear, anger and hatred. The most fundamental task in life is to achieve freedom. Without freedom we can not find the peace we need to help others. The end state of our lives should be in the pursuit of helping other around you, including family, friends, co-workers, neighbor's, and absolute strangers. When it comes to strangers we must be careful of course, but when we someone you can help, and it will not cause detriment to ourselves, we should desire a serving attitude. Without freedom of your mind, heart, soul, and spirit, you cannot help others in their time of need.

So today I pray for you sense of freedom. If you in a marriage that is ruining you, if your job is draining you of positive energy, if your habits are crippling you, then you must free yourself. Jesus was a freedom fighter, and he fought for our freedom. In god's name, I send my love and wishes for your freedom.

A Prayer For The Journalists

Please join me in a prayer for the journalists in harms way as they report the news in battle sickened areas. All over the world in different war-torn countries, embedded (and freelance) journalists risk their lives daily trying to capture media information in the form of pictures and interviews, in the hope that they can break a new story. Unfortunately journalists are sometimes labeled as ambulance chasers who don't have any sympathy for the victims of tragic circumstance, but I disagree with this view.

Dedicated journalists risk their lives and well being everyday for the sake of themselves, their profession, their country, and our world as a global community. I cannot imagine what our world would be like if we did not have journalists documenting good and bad news. The only way we can affect change in a positive way is to understand what is taking place in locations around the world.

At one time in my life I thought of becoming a journalist, as I enjoy writing, and I do like to know what is going on in the world. In a sense, my blog is my own journal, and who knows, maybe I can bring some sense of peace to visitors who read my daily prayers. I truly believe that words are the most powerful force on our earth, and god knows this to be true. Jesus came to us and used nothing but words to cement the message of god in the foundations of our world's house.

There are many people that believe journalists are simply seeking fame and notoriety by chasing down stories of intense subject matter, but I would again disagree. I find that line of logic to be cynical, and defeatist. I truly believe that journalists passionately intent to report the news for the sake of mankind, and that they feel a strong sense of duty to serve their communities, whether it's their local communities, or our global community.

Many of the world's most famous journalists were never interested in monetary gain from their work. The salary structure for journalists is surprisingly low, considering the dedication it takes to carry out the job. Journalism is such a competitive field, and the hours of hard work required to compete are staggering. Salaries for journalists can sometimes skyrocket if they are picked up by a major news outlet such as CNN, BBC, and MSNBC (just to name a few), but the majority of news reporters and media workers, including support staff and technical staff, only ever make adequate salaries.

So today I send out my prayers to the reporters, journalists, and media people, reporting the news. I pray for their safe passage, and that of god is safe guarding them in their travels. I pray today for all the journalists who have lost their lives. I pray for the families of the journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty. I pray that all the embedded journalists working with, and living with the armed forces are not hurt or killed while gathering information for us back home.

A Prayer For Victims On Gaza Beach

Today my prayers go out to the victims of the Gaza Beach shootings, where 3 children and 3 adults were killed by Israeli shells. Twenty-five others were wounded in various degrees. Of the victims that perished, 1 man, 2 women, and three children. The sickness and tragedy of this goes without saying.

The Israeli military leaders have stated that all shelling has stopped and they are investigating the tragedy further. Meanwhile the Palestinians have reported others were killed in Northern Gaza.

Speculation on why this occurred is around the killing of Samhadana - the founder of the PRC (Popular Resistance Committees) Rafah was the place of burial for Samhadana this Friday. Many people who attended the funeral were angry to the level of violence of course. Many threats of vengeance for his passing were verbalized. Samhadana was one of the Israeli military's prime targets, as he was believed to be responsible for various missile attacks on Israel.

My prayers go to all the victims of this horrible tragedy - their families, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and grandparents. Their sadness must be unspeakable, and I pray to the heavens for their peace of mind and spirit as they mourn. I say prayer to all of those victims in the conflicts between the Palestine and Israel. We lovers of peace and god have always prayed for peace in the middle east, but it seems futile after all these years of violence. May the love of Jesus and the hand of god weigh in heavy on their land and their peoples. May peace someday be realized for the sake of the innocent women, children, and men. May the guns and bombs be one day thrown into the sea, never to return to angry hands again. I pray for a sense of understanding between both sides in the on-going conflict. I am convinced that I will not see peace between Israel and Palestine in my life time, but I am certain of lasting peace in years to come.

Thank Your Lord Their Safe Passage

Today I want to thank the lord for the safe passage of his children living in the surrounding areas of Mount Merapi, Indonesia. This morning the infamous volcano erupted. Mount Merapi has been sending out it's warning signs in the form of steam and ash ejections over the last 20 days, and finally blew.

Many of the local peoples decided to ride out the volcano's wrath and stay with their land, homes, and farms. Not wise - but they got lucky. Thank god that no-one was hurt or killed in the eruption. Over 15,000 people from the local villages were at risk, and not one was injured or killed. This is great news.

Mount Merapi has a history of volcanic activity. Here is a short excerpt from the MSN web site regarding the Mount Merapi's eruption this morning:

"Merapi's last deadly eruption was in 1994, when it sent out a searing gas cloud that burned 60 people to death. About 1,300 people were killed when it erupted in 1930."

Today's prayer to god our lord is for all the souls who have perished due to natural disasters on our earth. I say a prayer for all the victims of volcano activity in recent and ancient history, including the obvious eruptions like Pompeii. Praise the lord and I give prayer for all the peoples whose lives have been affected by the beautiful and beastly acts of mother nature.

Da Vinci Code Controversy

Well there has been a big ta-do regarding Dan Brown's best selling novel (and I stress the word novel) known as The Da Vinci Code. Unfortunately there have been much controversy since the novel was published, and the present Hollywood movie starring Tom Hanks. There have been religous groups all around the world showing their displeasure (and anger) due to the depicitions of Mary Magdelene, Jesus Christ, the disciples, the holy grail, and much more.

For my readers who have never read The Da Vinci Code, or seen the movie, I would like to share my opinion on the matter. First of all the novel actually states on the jacket, that it is a work of fiction - a story that intermingles legends, fables, facts, and hearsay. The premise that has so many people upset is that the holy grail was not a cup or chalis, but instead a person; in this case Mary Magdelene. What irks me with all the complaining going on, is that not only The Da Vinci Code labeled as a pure work of fiction by the authors, the spewings that have so many religious groups and scholars upset, are the assumptions of a phsycodic murderer in the novel.
Some of the disgruntled relgious authorities are absolutley incensed with the content of The Da Vinci Code, and they pick away at the inconsistencies regarding the Knights Tempalar, The Roslyn Chapel and the so-called Rose Line. They go about trying to discredit all the information in Dan Brown's novel and ROn Howard's movie, by pointing out details such as the historical facts regarding possible decendants of Jesus Christ, the roles of churches, states, and governments. They try to discredit all the unproven bits of history throughout the text of the novel and the movie, including the origin and history masonic rituals (decendents of the Knights Templar), Poriea of Sian, Da Vinci's painting of The Last Supper on the Sixteenth Chapel, etc. etc. It's frankly ridiculous - it's FICTION friends.

Trying to discredit The Da Vinci Code makes as much sense as discrediting Ron Howards other movies like Cocoon. Fiction - fiction - fiction. Everyone relax please. The great thing that has come out of The Da Vinci Code and other contreverisal books and movies, such as The Passion of The Christ, is attention is brought to bear on our saviour Jesus Christ and his father in heaven. We are reminded of Christ and the father, we are reminded of the existence of faith on earth, we are reminded of the power and glory we are blessed with when we believe in the heavens, Jesus, the father, and the holy ghost.

Today I say a prayer the lord for peace and understanding between all peoples on our earth. I pray to our lord for the coming together of all religions, sects, and cultures for peace and good will. I pray that we as people do not turn simple works of fictious entertainment into fodder for anger, hatred, and disention. I pray to our lord Jesus Christ for the peace of heart, soul, and mind, in these turbulent times on earth. I pray today that we all come together in the spirit of love, undertsanding and good will.

A Prayer for Aids Victims

It's reported that over 25 million people have perished from this our earth since the year of our lord 1981. Families have been devastated by this horrendous virus, not just due to death, but for the 40 million others that are infected with HIV. The Associated Press recently estimated that over 50 million more souls in just India and China, will slip off our earth in the year of our lord 2025.

As we all know by now, the HIV virus had a leg up on us mortal humans from the beginning, due to unthoughtful assumptions, and plain old fashion ignorance. Today I do not intend to chastise and point fingers, as that will never be the intention of this forum.

I rest upon my knees today humbled by the lord Jesus Christ and his father in heaven. I pray for the people still living on earth who have lost their dear loved ones to Aids. I pray today for the souls in heaven who had to leave this earth so early. I pray that we as survivors will not caste judgment upon others, and leave our hearts and minds open when we are faced with witnessing the suffering of others. We as mortal men and women are not here on this earth to judge others. We are here to help others.

May the dominating powers of our present world see the light in their decisions and devise methods and strategies that can one day wipe out this vicious disease. May the power of the lord compel the scientific and research communities to push on for cures and vaccines that can be easily administered to the poor and the helpless around our world.

Peace For Iran

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad were in the news today regarding their nuclear energy program. They both have stated that they are only interested in nuclear power for energy purposes and not for weapons.

Western powers have always been fearful of Iran, and see it's government as unstable and possibly dangerous in the future. Iran has been under pressure from the the west to halt their program. I pray today that this all comes to a peaceful conclusion. I pray for the inervention of the lord in this matter. I pray for all the people and the families living in Iran.

May this world learn soon that war is never an answer. May the forces of destruction be held down and may god strike down those that intent to harm innocent women, children and men of all races, religions, and cultures.

Lets hope the United States votes out the like of . Let's hope that the United States votes out ignorant, and reactive leaders of their countries future.

A Prayer For Peace

Today I pray for all those people on earth are consumed with hatred and fear. May they all find peace on earth, and if they die, may they be forgiven for their sins. May they rest in peace.

Today in London they are trying to find a "dirty bomb" that authorities believe exists. May the lord ease the hearts of the angry and protect the lives of the innocent. May god bring peace amongst all Muslims and Christians. It seems that too many world leaders are following doctrines of a world order, when we need leaders who truly believe in god, peace, and forgiveness.

May the great god bring these people together, and may god give us new leaders in this world that foster peace and non violence. We need more leaders who think like Martin Luther King and Gandhi. We need less leaders like Napoleon and Hitler.

From Reuters:

LONDON - British anti-terrorist police are hunting for a dirty chemical bomb that could be used in an attack in Britain after a major raid failed to uncover a device they believe exists, newspapers reported on Saturday.

More than 250 officers, some wearing chemical, biological and radiological protection suits, shot one man and arrested another during a dawn raid on an east London house on Friday.

Police made no official comment on the reports but said nothing suspicious had been found in an initial search of the property. They had also reassured the public in the surrounding area there was nothing to suggest they were at risk.
