A Prayer For Victims On Gaza Beach
Today my prayers go out to the victims of the Gaza Beach shootings, where 3 children and 3 adults were killed by Israeli shells. Twenty-five others were wounded in various degrees. Of the victims that perished, 1 man, 2 women, and three children. The sickness and tragedy of this goes without saying. The Israeli military leaders have stated that all shelling has stopped and they are investigating the tragedy further. Meanwhile the Palestinians have reported others were killed in Northern Gaza.
Speculation on why this occurred is around the killing of Samhadana - the founder of the PRC (Popular Resistance Committees) Rafah was the place of burial for Samhadana this Friday. Many people who attended the funeral were angry to the level of violence of course. Many threats of vengeance for his passing were verbalized. Samhadana was one of the Israeli military's prime targets, as he was believed to be responsible for various missile attacks on Israel.
My prayers go to all the victims of this horrible tragedy - their families, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and grandparents. Their sadness must be unspeakable, and I pray to the heavens for their peace of mind and spirit as they mourn. I say prayer to all of those victims in the conflicts between the Palestine and Israel. We lovers of peace and god have always prayed for peace in the middle east, but it seems futile after all these years of violence. May the love of Jesus and the hand of god weigh in heavy on their land and their peoples. May peace someday be realized for the sake of the innocent women, children, and men. May the guns and bombs be one day thrown into the sea, never to return to angry hands again. I pray for a sense of understanding between both sides in the on-going conflict. I am convinced that I will not see peace between Israel and Palestine in my life time, but I am certain of lasting peace in years to come.
